Hello opponents to rezoning,
Here are just a few thoughts to start to build a possible list of
"talking points" for our pitch against our Rezoning Challenge:
The 1st two pages would be an excellent, front and back, handout to
new contacts to support the cause
Traffic - with the width of Franklin Street only 21-22 feet wide, and
with at least 18 additional cars, the danger of traffic will be
overwhelming for the many: walkers, joggers, bicyclists, baby
carriages, school age children walking to buses coming up Franklin to
get them, dog walkers, horses, etc.
What are the reasons the City of Centennial changed the zoning to
Neighborhood Conservation (NC2A) seven years ago? Are those reasons
not important today? (In fact seven years ago, none of the neighbors
were notified of the move to make that change)
Are there other options to the owner selling to this developer: a.
suggesting that South Suburban buy this 2.4 acres for a special use
(use your conservationist imagination) that borders the 23 acres of
Wild Life Area they bought about 20 years ago from the same sellers
b. suggesting that South Suburban, City of Centennial, Arapaho County
buy it for a Conservation Easement. c. raise money all of us to buy
it (use our imaginations).
Just some ideas to start.
Best wishes,
Tom Smedley
